The Coffee Club: Cape Town’s search for the perfect cup of coffee

My mate Benny first told me about this group of Cape Town coffee lovers who meet every Saturday morning at a preselected venue and sample the coffee.

Sounds very formal and what not, but i thought i’d give it shot since Benny and his brother Joe are such legends.

Let me tell you..stunning idea.

The Coffee Club met at Truth Coffee Cult (Prestwich Memorial) last Saturday and i went to see what the fuss is all about.

Everyone who attended was so chilled and it was more about meeting people than actually tasting the coffee. Having a common interest seems to instantly break the ice and everyone seemed genuinely pleased to meet my ugly ass.

The Coffee Club has been around a while and have covered all the usual spots. Vida E, Origin,The Biscuit Mill, but also hit new places like Superette in Woodstock which i hear is awesome.

Here some pics i got from the website:

Personalised welcome note..nicely done.

Proper attire..love that.

Yes doll..your picture is now on the internets.

There’s a whole bunch more pics and reviews of the venues they’ve visited on the website at coffeclub.co.za HERE.

Tomorrow (Sat 16th) they will be hitting Giovanni’s in Greenpoint between 10am and 12 pm.

Everyone is really friendly and you get to build some really cool friendships and networks.

Don’t be shy.

Just do it.
